Welcome

It is generally agreed that we need in science and technology different forms of information exchange, from large world congresses to the very small nearest-neighbor exchange of ideas. This workshop is perhaps on the level of nearest and next nearest-neighbor exchange of information. With its specialized topic-the inverse problem and modelling of cardiac sources in cardiography-it enters a multidisciplinary area where mathematics and physics are trying to establish a bridge towards medicine with the aim to prepare a supplementary noninvasive diagnostic technique in the field of cardiology. Of course, with the help of producers of multichannel magnetocardiographic measuring systems. We hope very much that the workshop will elucidate-with the effort of all participants-some open questions in magnetocardiography and electrocardiography.
